Privacy Policy
Last updated 22 October 2026
Sealer is a customer relationship management service operated by DotYello (“DotYello”, “we”, “us”). This policy explains what information we collect when you use the Sealer website, web app and mobile apps (together, the “Service”), how we use it, and the choices you have. We are based in Ontario, Canada and handle personal information in line with Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and applicable provincial privacy laws.
Two kinds of information
- Your account information: information about you, the person who signs up.
- Your prospect data: information about the people and businesses you add to Sealer, such as their names, contact details, notes and the stage of your dealings with them. You decide what to put in. For this data we act as your service provider: we store and process it only to run the Service for you.
What we collect
| Information | Why we collect it |
|---|---|
| Your email address, name and password (stored only as a one-way hash) | To create and secure your account, sign you in and contact you about the Service |
| Prospect data you enter or import: names, emails, phone numbers, business details, notes, tasks, stages, products and rates, and the history of changes | To provide the Service you asked for |
| Your settings and preferences (stages, statuses, fields, lists) | To personalise the Service |
| Technical information: IP address, device and browser type, and basic logs of requests and errors | To keep the Service secure, reliable and free of abuse |
| Messages you send us (for example to support) | To respond and to improve the Service |
We do not collect payment card details at this time. If paid plans are introduced we will use a payment processor and update this policy.
How we use information
- To provide, maintain and secure the Service, including backups and fraud and abuse prevention.
- To send service emails: account confirmation, password reset and important notices. We do not send marketing email without your consent.
- To answer support requests and fix problems.
- To meet legal obligations.
We do not sell your information, we do not use your prospect data for advertising, and we do not use your prospect data to train artificial-intelligence models.
Your prospect data and your responsibilities
You are responsible for having a lawful basis to collect and store the information about other people that you put into Sealer, including any consent required under privacy and anti-spam laws such as Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL). Sealer does not send messages to your prospects on your behalf.
Who we share information with
We use trusted service providers to run the Service. They may process information only on our instructions and for these purposes:
| Provider | Purpose | Location |
|---|---|---|
| Supabase | Database, authentication and file storage | Canada (Central) region |
| Netlify | Hosting and delivery of the website and web app | Global content network |
| Google Fonts | Delivering the typefaces used by our websites and apps (your browser or device requests them from Google) | Global |
| Email delivery provider [CONFIRM which provider is used] | Sending account and password-reset emails | [CONFIRM] |
| Apple and Google | Distributing the mobile apps and, where you use them, processing app-store account data | Global |
We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect our rights or the safety of others, or as part of a business transfer such as a merger or sale, in which case we will tell you and the new owner will be bound by this policy.
Where your information is stored
Your account and prospect data are stored in Canada. Some of our providers (for example content delivery and email) may process limited technical information in other countries, where it may be subject to the laws of those countries.
Cookies and similar technologies
The web app stores your sign-in session in your browser's local storage so you stay signed in. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. We currently do not use third-party analytics. If we add privacy-friendly analytics in the future, we will list it here.
How long we keep information
We keep your account and prospect data until you delete it or your account. You can delete your account at any time from the Account page in the web app or the Account tab in the mobile app. Deletion removes your account and all of the data stored in it. Copies in routine backups are overwritten on a rolling basis [CONFIRM the backup window with Supabase], and we may retain limited information where the law requires it, for example records of a legal request.
Security
Every account's data is isolated at the database level so that other users cannot read it, connections are encrypted in transit, and passwords are stored only as hashes. No service can be perfectly secure. If a breach of security safeguards creates a real risk of significant harm to you, we will notify you and the Privacy Commissioner of Canada as required by law.
Your rights and choices
- Access and correction: you can view and edit your information in the Service.
- Export: download everything stored in your account from the Account page.
- Deletion: delete your account and all of its data from the Account page or the mobile Account tab.
- Withdraw consent / ask questions / complain: email us at the address below. You may also contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
If you are an individual whose details were added to Sealer by one of our users, please contact that user first. You can also contact us and we will help direct your request.
Children
The Service is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. If we make a significant change we will tell you in the Service or by email before it takes effect. The date at the top shows the latest version.
